Contact Lens Consultation

Whether you’re new to lenses or looking to change your current type, our contact lens consultation process is designed to ensure you receive the safest, most comfortable and most suitable lenses for your eyes and lifestyle.

Starting with contact lenses can feel overwhelming, from choosing the right type to learning how to insert and care for them, it’s normal to have questions or feel a little nervous. That’s why we guide you through every step of the process, providing personalised advice, hands-on training, and ongoing follow-up support. You’ll never be left to figure things out on your own; our team is here to ensure your eyes stay healthy, your lenses feel comfortable, and you can enjoy clear vision with confidence and peace of mind.

Below is a step-by-step guide to what you can expect when beginning your contact lens journey with us, so you’ll know exactly how we help you from your first appointment through ongoing care.

Step 1: Comprehensive Eye Examination

If you have not had a recent eye examination, this will be the first step of your journey.

A full eye test allows us to:

  • Check your overall eye health

  • Confirm your most up-to-date prescription

  • Identify any conditions that may affect contact lens wear

  • Ensure contact lenses are safe and suitable for you

Even if you currently wear glasses, contact lenses require additional measurements and assessments to ensure they fit correctly and provide clear, comfortable vision.

Step 2: Contact Lens Consultation

During your consultation, we take the time to understand your individual needs and preferences. Everyone’s eyes and lifestyle are different, so this appointment allows us to tailor our recommendations specifically to you.

We will discuss:

  • Your daily routine and hobbies (sports, work, screen use, etc.)

  • How often you want to wear lenses (daily, occasional, or full-time)

  • Comfort and convenience preferences

  • Prescription requirements

  • Any previous experience with contact lenses

We will also carry out detailed measurements of your eyes to determine the best lens design and material for you.

Once we have determined the most suitable options, we will order a selection of trial lenses for you to try. These may include different brands or types to ensure we find the best possible fit, comfort and vision for your eyes. This stage is important because contact lenses are not one-size-fits-all, and trialling lenses allows us to find your ideal match.

Step 3: Contact Lens Fitting & Training

When your trial lenses arrive, you will return for a fitting appointment.

During this visit we will:

  • Assess how the lenses fit and move on your eyes

  • Check the quality of your vision

  • Ensure the lenses are comfortable and suitable for you

  • Teach you how to safely insert and remove your lenses

  • Provide guidance on lens care and hygiene

  • Answer any questions or concerns you may have

We will take as much time as needed to make sure you feel confident and comfortable managing your lenses independently.

Step 4: Follow-Up & Ongoing Support

After you’ve worn your trial lenses for about 7–10 days, we’ll arrange a follow-up appointment to ensure your eyes are healthy and the lenses are comfortable. During this visit, we will:

  • Check the health of your eyes

  • Confirm your lenses are fitting well and providing clear vision

  • Address any comfort or handling concerns

  • Make adjustments if needed

Following this initial review, we’ll continue to monitor your eyes closely over the first 6–12 months of wear. Depending on your individual needs, you may be seen:

  • Monthly, or

  • Every 3 months

Once your lenses and eye health are stable, routine check-ups will be scheduled every 3, 6, or 12 months, tailored to your eyes and the type of lenses you wear. Regular follow-ups are essential to maintain eye health, ensure comfort, and keep your vision at its best.
