Vivid Vision VR
A cutting-edge virtual reality system designed to treat binocular vision disorders like amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), and convergence issues.
What is Vivid Vision VR?
Vivid Vision is an advanced, clinically supported vision therapy tool that uses virtual reality (VR) to treat a range of binocular vision disorders. A treatment to support our behavioural optometry service, it offers an engaging and effective way to help both children and adults improve how their eyes work together.
Vivid Vision treats conditions such as:
- Amblyopia (lazy eye)
- Strabismus (eye turn or misalignment)
- Convergence insufficiency
- Poor depth perception
- Brain Injury / Concussion
- Binocular vision dysfunction
- Neurodiverse Conditions
Traditional treatments for these conditions have included patching, vision therapy exercises, and corrective lenses, while often helpful, these methods can be time-consuming and sometimes discouraging, especially for children. Vivid Vision enhances the treatment process by transforming visual therapy into interactive VR games and activities that are both fun and therapeutically effective.
Who is Vivid Vision VR for?
Red Light Therapy is suitable for a wide range of individuals looking to support and enhance their eye health, including:
The Vivid Vision Treatment Process
Initial Consultation & Vision Assessment
Your Vivid Vision journey starts with a thorough eye and visual function assessment. This includes checking visual acuity, eye teaming (binocular vision), focusing, tracking, depth perception, and visual processing.
For some, assessments may also explore areas like visual memory, spatial awareness, or post-brain injury changes.
Based on your test results and symptoms, our optometrists use this data to determine if Vivid Vision is suitable for your needs and if it is, will create a tailored vision therapy plan.
The plan outlines which visual skills Vivid Vision will work at developing, how long the treatment process will be and outlines any home support exercises.
Vivid Vision Setup and Calibration
In your first Vivid Vision session you’ll wear a VR headset designed to deliver slightly different images to each eye, encouraging them to work together.
Our optometrists will calibrate the software to your unique visual profile, adjusting contrast, alignment, and visibility for each eye.
They will also walk you through the game-based activities that will be used as part of your treatment plan.
Routine In-Clinic Sessions
As part of your treatment plan you are likely to attend sessions once or twice a week which last around 30–45 minutes.
During these sessions you will complete several interactive exercises and games designed to challenge and improve the specific visual skills you are working to develop.
Throughout the process the activities will increase in difficulty and every few sessions our optometrist will reassess your visual skills to track progress.
Adjustments to the therapy plan are made if necessary, ensuring you're getting the most benefit from each session.
Program Completion and Maintenance
Once you've came to the end of your treatment plan, a final reassessment is conducted to confirm visual improvements.
Our optometrists will provide you with information for ongoing exercises to help maintain your results long-term.
In some cases, occasional check-ins or maintenance sessions may be recommended to reinforce progress.
